CREST Scientist, Dr. Friedman was appointed as the Vice Chair of the American Association of Geographers (AAG) Caribbean Geography Speciality Group (CGSG) on November 1, 2023. She was nominated by the Board of CGSG to receive this honor.
Dr. Friedman’s motivation to extend her network in the field of Caribbean geography and shape the direction of CGSG activities inspired her to take on this role. The CGSG hosts webinars throughout the year and organizes paper and panel sessions for the yearly AAG Meeting. In this role, Dr. Friedman will be helping organize board elections, guide seminar development, and attend monthly Board meetings.
